Victoria – how many of our children are in care?

I found an article on the Age website with some stats collected in 2006 concerning the numbers of children and young people in care in Victoria. 4794 in total were in care, and over half (2521) were cared for by foster families. You can read the rest of the article here. The data is presented again in today’s Age, along with a story from a male carer’s perspective about “Jeremy” who came to stay with him. You can read Anthony’s story here.
